SPJIMR Library is to cater to all the information needs of the SPJIMR community. Library’s primary focus is to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of members in a friendly and professional manner. Library Staff helps to locate, select and acquire the information needs of members.
SPJIMR library can be termed as a hybrid library, which means it is a combination of both printed as well as electronic collection & services. The e-resources collection too is broad enough and includes resources like EBSCO’s Business Source Complete, Emerald e-journals, CRISIL & CMIE databases and Bloomberg terminal, to name a few. Access to all this collection is through library portal. The portal is designed to keep members of SPJIMR community informed of the Library’s resources, services, programs, and other activities. The Library uses Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) scheme, one the most popular scheme in major parts of the world, to classify the book collection. All the operations of the library are completely computerized along with barcodes and scanners. The catalogue is available to members through OPAC (Online Public Access to Catalogue). Email reminders and renewal facility, which is thought to be a significant feature today, has been operational at SPJIMR library for more than a decade.
It is home to a
huge collection of resources on diverse areas of
business, economics, management and allied subjects. With its rich collection
& services the Library is well-reputed to be the best in Mumbai. Moreover,
Library has ensured an arrangement with other libraries including the British
Council Library, American Resource Center and World Trade Centre Library for
wider access. Library also arranges for training programs for electronic resources
to enable members to be savvy in an increasingly complex digital world.
Library continually works to further the development of its collection & services to provide members with the best possible service. Library also organizes events like Book Exhibitions & lectures on newer research techniques, writing citations, etc. Library Staff take great pride in their role as information providers, and strive to provide the necessary services, collections, expertise, and environments to ensure that all the information needs of members are fulfilled and always try to contribute to make the teaching learning process enriching.
